Gate A-4 By Naomi Shihab Nye:

Wandering around the Albuquerque Airport Terminal, after learning my flight had been delayed four hours, I heard an announcement: “If anyone in the vicinity of Gate A-4 understands any Arabic, please come to the gate immediately.” Well— one pauses these days. Gate A-4 was my own gate. I went there.

An older woman in full traditional Palestinian embroidered dress, just like my grandma wore, was crumpled to the floor, wailing. “Help,” said the flight agent. “Talk to her . What is her problem? We told her the flight was going to be late and she did this.”

I stooped to put my arm around the woman and spoke haltingly. “Shu-dow-a, shu-bid-uck, habibti? Stani schway, min fadlick, shu-bit-se-wee?” The minute she heard any words she knew, however poorly used, she stopped crying. She thought the flight had been cancelled entirely. She needed to be…

Let’s Manifest Peace!

obama-putin_2637988bAs a war in the Ukraine looms over our heads, peace becomes a welcomed alternative. It’s hard not to feel helpless when the world governments are caught up in conflict and misinformation abounds.

My initial reaction was to protest the impending war with Russia. But, it didn’t feel right. We manifest our thoughts, so protesting war seemed to reinforce the possibility.

I prayed about it, but truthfully, I didn’t expect an answer to this man-made dilemma. But, a few hours later, a Facebook post showed up in my email. It had a link to an article on the technique of Ho’oponopono, used by Dr. Hew Len to cure a ward of mentally ill criminals.

The astounding part is the doctor didn’t meet with the patients! He simply sat in his office, realizing that every negative “aspect” in this world was a reflection of his mind. He healed the inmates by simply acknowledging he needed to heal himself first. So, he sat, looking at their files, while stating these words: “I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”

This was done consistently, over and over, and the inmates got better. It worked so well that mental ward was closed down because the inmates had been healed!

Today, I propose that you take a moment to think of President Obama and Russia’s President Putin and the Ukraine president. As you think of each one, say these words: “I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”

If you have difficulty praying for a president you didn’t vote, do it anyway. If you have difficulty praying for a perceived enemy, do it anyway. Feel the peace that comes with love, forgiveness and power.

Let’s see if we can manifest peace.

“I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”

The Role of a Healer

My role as a healer is to help people understand the reason their life is not as they would like it be. I help them face their fears and acknowledge that they have created their life circumstances. I offer advice, given to me by the spirits, on how to correct their perspective. It usually involves forgiveness and a willingness to let of the past. The healing is accomplished by the person. I act as a catalyst to help them help themselves.

People may be angry about their childhood or a recent injustice, fearful, depressed, or ill. All of these emotional or physical concerns are manifested by the thoughts of their higher mind. We create our own lives — for better or worse.

During a shamanic healing, I am shown visions that help me (and them) to understand what thoughts and actions created their circumstances. Sometimes these thoughts were created in a different lifetime and a past life healing will be performed, or sometimes the thoughts are from this lifetime and a soul retrieval healing is needed. If a person is suffering, it is because they have a thought that needs understanding and forgiveness, and ultimately a shift in their perception.

What is the single requisite for this shift in perception? It is simply this; the recognition that sickness is of the mind, and has nothing to do with the body. What does this recognition “cost”? It costs the whole world you see, for the world will never again appear to rule the mind. For with this recognition is responsibility placed where it belongs; not with the world, but on him who looks on the world and sees it as it is not. He looks on what he chooses to see. No more and no less.

The outcome depends on the readiness of the person. If a healing will cause them distress because they are not ready to acknowledge that they created their world, the healing will wait.

Blessed journeys!

The Journey Through Life

I had asked for guidance from the Spirit one day. Although I had asked for advice for myself, the words seemed universal and I wanted to share it with you.

“The question is always the same. Where to begin, when will it end. Life is a journey, the destination is not known or important. Stop the search for results, live in a moment of peace, knowing that all roads eventually lead to the Divine Spirit.

Have fun, don’t determine the results to be important. You are creating a ripple – how deep, how far, will not be known to you in this realm.

Where will you go, how will you live? We’re waiting to see how well you listen to the lessons going through your spirit, non-stop. Will you hear the Spirit or will you succumb to life’s pleasures? Only you can decide.”

I asked, “Do you like the path I have started?” The answer: “Walking, running – it doesn’t matter. You are seeking. The teacher learns as they teach. With the Spirit anything is possible. Don’t limit yourself. The reach can go well beyond yourself. While teaching immerse yourself. Let go of the ego’s embarrassment. We will help you – just let go!”
