When the spirit of my grandfather appeared, I was happy to see him. It was the first time I had seen him since he died 2 1/2 years ago. He immediately started talking about my grandmother, Celia. He said how he missed her and that he wouldn’t go on without her. It was then that I realized that my grandfather hadn’t pass over yet.
He asked me to tell my grandmother that he loved her. I said I didn’t want to – it might upset her. Besides, she always talked about how she could feel his presence. My token message would pale in comparison. But my grandfather insisted. He wanted her to HEAR the words, “I love you.”
I did not want to call my grandmother and tell her “I talk to dead people.” But, I had made a promise, so I called her. After a few awkward moments when she didn’t recognize my name (she doesn’t hear well), I finally told her, “I had a vision of grandpa and he said to tell you he loves you.” She cried with joy! “I knew it. I knew he was here. I can feel him all the time. Thank you for telling me.”
Telling my grandmother certainly went better than I had hoped, even if the phone went dead in the middle of our conversation (she doesn’t recharge her phone often). I hope that the message was delivered when she needed it most. I know my grandfather’s love for my grandmother was strong. Even though as my grandmother put it, “I was a crazy woman to love.” They will be reunited, when the time is right. For now, my grandfather waits for my grandmother. Together, they will cross to the other side.
